How God Became King
Ask any Christian with a little discernment about the principles of their faith and they will not hesitate to name the first four books of the New Testament: Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. If that Christian has some background in the faith, they will probably be able to specify which of the authors were apostles and to which peoples they wrote and preached. But would they be able to answer this emphatic question: What is the pure and true message of the Gospels? This is a warning that Bishop and English academic N.T. Wright described this book, "How God Became King." With a more extensive and concrete scope on the relevance of these biblical texts for life, the author invites Christians to read the Gospels as what they truly are: at the height of History, the Word became flesh, lived among us, and, as King, opened the doors of his Israel to all peoples.
