Happiness is not in having, but in being. What is a rich person? How can we measure true wealth? Is a rich person just someone who has a lot of money? There are many men who live miserably surrounded by gold, and others who live very happily, even without material possessions. Jesus said that a man’s life is not constituted by the abundance of possessions he possesses. Bookstores and libraries are full of books that teach us how to make money, become rich, and be prosperous in our businesses and investments. Some of these books, written by billionaires or successful economists, have important principles that can help us set better financial goals and be more effective in the pursuit of financial prosperity. But the overwhelming majority of these books do not look at money from a spiritual perspective. They do not consider it as a seed that can be multiplied through generous giving, nor do they address the issue of contentment.
